Terms of Service
Last updated: June 11, 2026
1. Who we are
Salvage ("Salvage", "we", "us") is operated by Hugo Betscher, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel) registered in France — SIREN 939 766 473, 9 Villa de Guelma, 75018 Paris, France. Contact: hugobter@gmail.com.
2. The service
Salvage is a subscription service that surfaces business closure and layoff signals derived from public records — currently Texas WARN layoff filings (Texas Workforce Commission) and Texas liquor-license records (TABC) — through a web feed and email alerts, together with estimated asset values and timelines.
3. About the data — important disclaimers
Leads are derived from public government records and automated processing. We do not verify each record. In particular: (a) a filing or license drop does not guarantee that a business is closing or that any assets are or will be available for sale; (b) estimated asset values and clear-out timelines are heuristic estimates, not appraisals; (c) we are not affiliated with, nor act on behalf of, any business listed in the service; (d) nothing in the service is legal, financial, or investment advice. Always verify independently before acting on a lead.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per subscription; the Agency plan expressly allows shared team use of a single account.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the service for your own business purposes. You may not: resell, republish, or redistribute the data or alerts; scrape or bulk-extract the service; build a competing dataset from it; use the service to harass businesses or individuals appearing in public records; or attempt to circumvent access controls.
7. Intellectual property
The service, its design, software, and curated datasets are our property or licensed to us. The underlying public records remain public; our selection, enrichment, and presentation of them are protected.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
9. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including lost profits or missed deals).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent courts of Paris, France — without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your place of residence.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
